Traci Wendell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an office located in downtown Albany in the historic Avery Mill building. She has been working as a therapist for fourteen years treating individuals, couples and families. Ms. Wendell received her MSW degree from the University of Washington in 1996 and went on to do post-graduate training at the San Diego Psychoanalytic Institute.

While using various approaches to address different types of problems, Ms. Wendell‘s overall framework is “psychodynamic.” This means she works to help people understand and break patterns in their lives that have led to unhappiness. For example, a person might feel “stuck” in certain relationships where the same cycles of communication bring frustration and pain. Ms. Wendell believes that understanding the dynamics at play, that is, the reasons a person acts and feels the way he does, can be the first step to change.

Ms. Wendell enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults. Some of the conditions or areas that she addresses are:
  • Depression and mood disorders
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Partner relationships and family relationships
  • Work-related stress
  • Grief and loss
  • Parenting, blended families and childhood disorders
  • Eating Disorders
  • Stress management and anger management
  • Gender identity and gender roles
  • Codependency and recovery

FEES AND PAYMENT  Most types of insurance are accepted.
For convenience, Ms. Wendell accepts most major credit cards. A cash discount for clients who pay out of pocket is also offered.

OFFICE HOURS Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Evening appointments are available.

“I look forward to hearing from you! I welcome anyone who would like an introductory session to determine whether I am a ‘good fit.’ Therapy is a unique process for each person and sometimes it takes time to find the right therapist.” -- Traci Wendell
